8 u Baseball
1. Players must be 7-8 years old in current year.
2. All players will bat in consecutive order throughout the entire game.
3. If a ball hit by the batter hits the machine, the play is automatically declared dead and each base runner or batter will advance one base.
4. No more than eleven players on the field at one time and 5 players must be in the outfield.
5. Each batter will receive a maximum of 6 pitches at their turn at bat. If the batter has not hit the ball after the 6th pitch, it will constitute an out. The batter will not be out if the 6th pitch is fouled off. He will continue to bat until he misses the pitch or hits the ball fair.
6. No base stealing. The runner must stay in contact with the base until the ball is hit by the batter.
7. Ten batters or three outs constitute an inning.
8. There will be no walks allowed.
9. A game will consist of 5 innings or 1 hour, whichever comes first. No extra innings will be played.
10. Time will be called when the ball is in possession of a defensive player inside the base path. There will be halfway lines for the base runner and the umpire will determine what base the runner will advance to.
11. All players on the bench must rotate into the game every inning.
12. Only USA stamped bats are legal.
13. The speed of the machine will be 40 mph at 46 ft.
