10 u Baseball
PITCHING MACHINE
1. Players must be 9-10 years old in current year.
2. A regulation game shall consist of 6 innings or 1 hour and 5 minutes, whichever comes first.
3. Only USA stamped bats are legal.
4. All pitching will be done by an electric-powered pitching machine.
5. Ball speed shall be approximately 46 miles per hour.
6. If a batted ball hits the pitching machine or extension cord, the ball will be ruled dead and all runners will advance one base if forced.
7. A thrown ball that hits the pitching machine will be ruled dead as if the ball went into dead territory. Two bases will be awarded.
8. No base on balls allowed. Count remains 3 and 2 until ball is hit or a strike out occurs.
9. Bunting is allowed.
10. It is legal to use four (4) outfielders.
11. Players in pitcher’s position must be within 6’ of pitching rubber but never any closer than 46’ of home plate when pitch is delivered.
12. Base distance is 60’.
13. Ten batters shall constitute an inning. When the 10th batter comes to the plate, we will automatically have 2 outs and the scorekeeper will notify the umpire who will tell both teams. The inning will end by:
A. Any forced out or caught fly ball
B. Third out achieved
C. The ball is in front of the runner nearest to home plate so that no one can score
14. Time will be granted when the ball is inside the base path and in possession of a player and no runner is advancing to the next base.
15. A team must have 8 players to start a game, but cannot have any less at any time.
16. All players present must be listed in the batting order and any 10 may play defense. All players must bat in order the first time around then any ten will be able to bat the remaining part of the game. If a player is late, he must be added to the end of the batting order.
17. Catchers must have a courtesy runner with 2 outs. The courtesy runner will be the player who made the second out of that inning. No other player will be allowed a courtesy runner.
18. There is no infield fly rule in this League.
